Did I actually do another Pinterest workout?<br />
<br />
It's true! Today I did a <a href="http://pinterest.com/pin/3940718394031783/">6 minute routine</a>. I had already done a bunch of leg work and rode the stationary bike so I only did 1 rep of this. It was awesome!<br />
<br />
You know when you hate an exercise and you can't wait for the set to be over? With this set, you don't have time to hate the exercise (not even burpee's, which I despise) because it's over so fast!<br />
<br />

Hey! How about I try one of the bazillion workouts I've pinned? <a href="http://pinterest.com/pin/3940718393570953/">This is not my favourite</a>. 50 crunches? I can't do 50 crunches and I'm in pretty decent shape. <br />
It took me about 10 minutes to do 1 set but I cut down on the reps on a few of the moves. I only did 25 crunches and 30 second plank. I did 50 calf raises but I will cut that down if I do this one again. My calves are really sore today, right at the top behind my knees. Not fun.<br />
<br />
Here's a couple of the moves from the workout that you may not know how to do.<br />
<br />
Sumo Squat<br />

It's a bright purple, not pastel, not too dark. Perfect for Spring and Summer when nature is at it's most vibrant. I actually pinned this polish from <a href="http://wnwbeauty.com/product.php?cid=18&pid=18&subid=18">Wet n Wild</a> after I bought and used it. I had to share with the <a href="http://pinterest.com/pin/3940718394165843/">Pinterest</a> world! In the picture below you can also see my fabulous new floors!<br />

It's from the Christmas 2010 collection which is why it was on sale. I bought it thinking it was black but it's actually really dark purple. OMG I love it! Just for fun I added a coat of LaRosa Crackle in Satin Smooth. It's a sexy bronze colour.<div class="separator"style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjyBNC30k97Vur0JNJwKTRxrKTmCyuuhRi5Q4h0o61_qNYY22wl91dc2SRCoLTQOLCOnp02v2HVIYlARRGVe8iKIkNvoj1407SQOyz0Gjyy_C2vD3ESLJrQW9fa5agKS9hMJKXR8dlVbTs/s640/blogger-image-1224893708.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjyBNC30k97Vur0JNJwKTRxrKTmCyuuhRi5Q4h0o61_qNYY22wl91dc2SRCoLTQOLCOnp02v2HVIYlARRGVe8iKIkNvoj1407SQOyz0Gjyy_C2vD3ESLJrQW9fa5agKS9hMJKXR8dlVbTs/s640/blogger-image-1224893708.jpg" /></a></div><div class="separator"style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiu1RUn5_2OxSFIX9DcozW9wSsR_LTeMRlQIpZaHUgWUBS2V4RVzR4hh9bg5NduuN20pM6Injd9Fr3CoeiU7SGuonTmpr_7Fex4IrkO6pyaid4x71mKO5yEHzeFtDNtriMryXlVLPqS9Q8/s640/blogger-image-150669314.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiu1RUn5_2OxSFIX9DcozW9wSsR_LTeMRlQIpZaHUgWUBS2V4RVzR4hh9bg5NduuN20pM6Injd9Fr3CoeiU7SGuonTmpr_7Fex4IrkO6pyaid4x71mKO5yEHzeFtDNtriMryXlVLPqS9Q8/s640/blogger-image-150669314.jpg" /></a></div>Danihttp://www.blogger.com/profile/01999028690146486909noreply@blogger.com2tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5319415393326815920.post-83828481371317102892012-03-07T13:04:00.001-08:002012-03-07T13:04:13.234-08:00Gradient NailsThis trend has been all over Pinterest lately. I don't really have enough colours of the same family to do this, but I gave it a shot with all the purples I have. I like it! It's fun. Takes forever to do though because you're working with 2 coats of 5 different colours.<div class="separator"style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgtVstgeA2VfwTvXkU0vugmM5rKHdQV7E5EqNA6nIzBVN1FU5kIZWtm7Yxqrnyo8bJECvcJJSjBDSI2XBZn7m_JSh4I2fkU0do3KB73aFcMftrQjO_Fuz_mWb2eU3Le2g3NaTKl5rXTUeE/s640/blogger-image-65828773.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgtVstgeA2VfwTvXkU0vugmM5rKHdQV7E5EqNA6nIzBVN1FU5kIZWtm7Yxqrnyo8bJECvcJJSjBDSI2XBZn7m_JSh4I2fkU0do3KB73aFcMftrQjO_Fuz_mWb2eU3Le2g3NaTKl5rXTUeE/s640/blogger-image-65828773.jpg" /></a></div>Danihttp://www.blogger.com/profile/01999028690146486909noreply@blogger.com2tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5319415393326815920.post-2949203253004385132012-01-15T08:23:00.001-08:002012-01-15T17:15:06.739-08:00Fruit and Nut BitesAnother <a href="http://pinterest.com/pin/3940718393691876/">no bake snack</a> while my kitchen is being destroyed :) Fruit and nuts are a great source of energy, healthy fats and natural sugars.<br />
I used dried pineapple, dates and apricots. For the nut mixture I used a mixed nuts blends from the bulk section.<br />
I don't have a food processor so I had to use the blender. I tried my Magic Bullet first but it was too small. These bites would have held together better if I could have gotten the fruit more broken down.<br />
These are good, but not great.<br />

These <a href="http://pinterest.com/pin/3940718393680978/">energy bites</a> are super simple and super yummy! I used dairy free chocolate chips and medium shred coconut because that's what I had on hand.<br />

We went out for Hubs work Christmas party. The party was at the <a href="http://www.victoriaconference.com/">Victoria Conference Centre</a> and they did a wonderful job with the decorations and food.<br />
For some reason we didn't take a single picture once we left the hotel room, so you'll have to make do with the only picture I have.<br />

<br />
The <a href="http://candy.about.com/od/chocolate/r/dipped_pretzels.htm">original pin </a>called for 1 12oz package of chocolate chips. I used 2 Espresso Chunk bars. I had a BIG bag of pretzels and I just threw a couple of handfuls on the baking sheet :)<br />
<br />

This idea for <a href="http://pinterest.com/pin/3940718393536319/">candle stamping</a> one of those for me. I read the back of so many stamps at Michael's but decided to use picture stamps instead. I had a 1/2 off coupon so I splurged on a set of rubber stamps featuring birds :) I got the stamp pad at the same time because I liked the colour and it was $1.50<br />
I got small votive candles for my first try (vanilla scented from Walmart)<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhOz2FcMXIwTgamH-8JgGiewG9kerdmiwUBpx7mvbRY77Bs9G5zPM2pJlLx9opKcO7zArjpdfGWKPgSSiIEFyDc9gwqEH0jPY4WaO_6BhJ21JojQkMqo8jsy-PSK-j4b1ro2R_6TvJCojA/s1600/stamp1.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhOz2FcMXIwTgamH-8JgGiewG9kerdmiwUBpx7mvbRY77Bs9G5zPM2pJlLx9opKcO7zArjpdfGWKPgSSiIEFyDc9gwqEH0jPY4WaO_6BhJ21JojQkMqo8jsy-PSK-j4b1ro2R_6TvJCojA/s320/stamp1.JPG" width="239" /></a></div><br />
I put the stamp on the desk and inked the top surface. I rolled the candle over the stamp. Apologies for the scarred desk. This is also where I paint my nails.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgt4xrFlu23_si9vpZCiwqYFqwz9fQD5G4AUvHzzFfOXVD_04uL9Rw0MFjmxQAe8658dKapHq02zbtEWT0g4_D59DPSXBzLfqmqvKKAJGvbQbMhKjWAutP30I4nm0iB42vAFOof0rC0q4M/s1600/stamp3.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgt4xrFlu23_si9vpZCiwqYFqwz9fQD5G4AUvHzzFfOXVD_04uL9Rw0MFjmxQAe8658dKapHq02zbtEWT0g4_D59DPSXBzLfqmqvKKAJGvbQbMhKjWAutP30I4nm0iB42vAFOof0rC0q4M/s320/stamp3.JPG" width="239" /></a></div><br />

The kids LOVED this! I was a super hero the night I made <a href="http://pinterest.com/pin/3940718393438666/">bath paint and it's so, so easy.</a><br />
<br />
I made half the recipe in one big bowl then separated it for 2 different colours.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhd8QXb97XJln2JzMmazy-EzjVJJMpBgOIytfPNEh4W0Xd4ZTIc07heCUr96DS3aRWVfNWKNDWOuHxsk9K6qdVPDk61CbQYs9GzJF1P-gCyxOagQSNNhUKVPBfvv0piEfw1wsZiOO2IFgk/s1600/bath+paint.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhd8QXb97XJln2JzMmazy-EzjVJJMpBgOIytfPNEh4W0Xd4ZTIc07heCUr96DS3aRWVfNWKNDWOuHxsk9K6qdVPDk61CbQYs9GzJF1P-gCyxOagQSNNhUKVPBfvv0piEfw1wsZiOO2IFgk/s320/bath+paint.JPG" width="239" /></a></div> I know it looks like a scary mess to clean up but it's only shower gel! I used the removable shower head and it rinsed right off.Danihttp://www.blogger.com/profile/01999028690146486909noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5319415393326815920.post-59171803060023757772011-11-21T10:20:00.000-08:002011-11-21T10:20:52.548-08:00Lemon BarsA friend argued that the recipe isn't actually 2 ingredients, but there are only 2 things you need to make these <a href="http://pinterest.com/pin/3940718393520106/">super yummy lemon bars</a>.<br />
I couldn't find a can of lemon pie filling so I used the Jell-o stuff that you make on the stove. Still super easy.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgX1KG9BzKUDlicCBcc9s6GfglzPDMyalVWFhK_SHzkSq5hTfSwluQUxLhgKYfJuNJAR3r4OIvO52M-D6jBGk-FdoY9P8UA3CEVzFsIFq4gbZcR51lGMPv9Yt21Nk9NYiGVD-EKd03MzUk/s1600/DSCF2187.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgX1KG9BzKUDlicCBcc9s6GfglzPDMyalVWFhK_SHzkSq5hTfSwluQUxLhgKYfJuNJAR3r4OIvO52M-D6jBGk-FdoY9P8UA3CEVzFsIFq4gbZcR51lGMPv9Yt21Nk9NYiGVD-EKd03MzUk/s320/DSCF2187.JPG" width="320" /></a></div> Once the filling is made, mix in a box of Angel Food cake mix and pour it into a pan. I used a rectangular cake pan.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjWPVT2IP96s7nRAckres7ahMiBbDnGbgI1Ca2ILYZvXGKGtjf-VI_eByijBSmuBSP4t1Oa6PAisHaopNg9sliLpDvBeG-1lmPAyeH7Lmh70gCQFRNaBg5DHp215LOsJ5KudCf1eENVzog/s1600/DSCF2186.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjWPVT2IP96s7nRAckres7ahMiBbDnGbgI1Ca2ILYZvXGKGtjf-VI_eByijBSmuBSP4t1Oa6PAisHaopNg9sliLpDvBeG-1lmPAyeH7Lmh70gCQFRNaBg5DHp215LOsJ5KudCf1eENVzog/s320/DSCF2186.JPG" width="320" /></a></div><br />
It looks really, really weird in the pan. Bake and cool. Sprinkle with icing sugar. Done!<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiT3U8pQv-DcydmkWGv0_-yYvRVKYu9d0WQpnTxGc2WjAASNO3A8D28UgOc8ykSCTapuUzQwAnrxXxTXmJk6c19NQgg-QoMi5jIIZA-4v5lPSEXmeeRk8otaavxCjdSYCFL0ygt75YmNoc/s1600/DSCF2189.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiT3U8pQv-DcydmkWGv0_-yYvRVKYu9d0WQpnTxGc2WjAASNO3A8D28UgOc8ykSCTapuUzQwAnrxXxTXmJk6c19NQgg-QoMi5jIIZA-4v5lPSEXmeeRk8otaavxCjdSYCFL0ygt75YmNoc/s320/DSCF2189.JPG" width="320" /></a></div><br />

I love it and the wool is comforting during the yucky weather.<br />
I'm working on another one using a light grey cotton yarn. I'll post pics as soon as it's done.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg_LP6jAPQalnXSQfPmM2a68HrXG6drZjzhdQNCaMj2GhnF9V8jH9rkuV9Dw3H6gzW6vTYNaFQOykDWLKeKuWGEg6qxK2TRTKkedmFFC4LGNld9PgkWVQGxDQ8-oIxd_AdR1XLYSwJZ9NU/s1600/photo1.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg_LP6jAPQalnXSQfPmM2a68HrXG6drZjzhdQNCaMj2GhnF9V8jH9rkuV9Dw3H6gzW6vTYNaFQOykDWLKeKuWGEg6qxK2TRTKkedmFFC4LGNld9PgkWVQGxDQ8-oIxd_AdR1XLYSwJZ9NU/s320/photo1.JPG" width="320" /></a></div><br />

<br />
This was so easy, I did it in about half an hour. The only small issue I have is that the bracelet twists. But that's a personal irritation, nothing major LOL<br />

Time for new colours! I used a double coat of China Glaze Turned Up Turquoise for the base. I used Sinful Colors Nail Junkie for the sparkle. Finish with a clear top coat and voila!<br />
<br />
<br />

I tried this <a href="http://pinterest.com/pin/287478921/">Polka Dot</a> idea out on myself first, then I did my daughters friends nails because they were going to the Selena Gomez concert.<br />
I used 2 coats of Avon Luxe Lavendar for the base and <a href="http://www.sallybeauty.com/nail-polish/SBS-812059,default,pd.html">Sally Girl Your Majesty</a> for the dots.<br />
<br />

What could be easier than creating <a href="http://pinterest.com/pin/292507478/">sparkling tips</a>? ya know, besides painting my right hand.<br />
<br />
I used a double coat of <a href="http://x.opi.com/">OPI</a> Catch The Garter and used a single application of <a href="http://x.opi.com/">OPI</a> Pink Before You Leap, all topped with a quick drying, clear top coat. Super cute and super easy.<br />
<br />
*I apologize for the picture quality. The lighting is bad and the polish colours are light.*<br />

Seems easy enough, and it is! It takes some patience because you have to hold the beads in place while continuing the braid and the beads can slip out of place if the braid isn't tight enough. But it's totally doable and makes a neat accessory!<br />

Genius!<br />
I chose <a href="http://www.amazon.com/Goody-Ouchless-Hair-Elastics-pieces/dp/B0007W89KO">Goody Ouchless Hair Elastics</a>, we use them in our house anyway, and picked one of my favourite ribbons.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEimCtAkb2pCq33Ojzco8I-kCLLu6B1aYDxvb7esoNuYGcvuSaoqSDlpBT2VfPY9fVR_tJwr400K0lGs2HzXIApoj-fFmiViugewXvsAZzwRDICUulk8U5ql7YpkTf3IO4I4oneI0Ow_USw/s1600/DSCF2128.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="239" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEimCtAkb2pCq33Ojzco8I-kCLLu6B1aYDxvb7esoNuYGcvuSaoqSDlpBT2VfPY9fVR_tJwr400K0lGs2HzXIApoj-fFmiViugewXvsAZzwRDICUulk8U5ql7YpkTf3IO4I4oneI0Ow_USw/s320/DSCF2128.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>I measured the ribbon around my head and took off 1" for the elastics. Because the ribbon I chose it satiny I didn't want it to be too tight, or it would slip right off. I tied 2 elastics together, and using a few quick stitches, attached the ribbon.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjhkTPey3lNe8r5LQsDfCFX4jE03j2GVdtxKCPYLJpsTMS2zSiBzHuas_zuPtIQm2uKauFA59pQoIdqlUXvYj_x7SDrM-hUATstmApsdVq5d7E0FH2RwBYqsskcrhrCirWOt47V0C0LLkM/s1600/DSCF2126.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="239" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjhkTPey3lNe8r5LQsDfCFX4jE03j2GVdtxKCPYLJpsTMS2zSiBzHuas_zuPtIQm2uKauFA59pQoIdqlUXvYj_x7SDrM-hUATstmApsdVq5d7E0FH2RwBYqsskcrhrCirWOt47V0C0LLkM/s320/DSCF2126.jpg" width="320" /></a></div><br />
It really is that easy. Maybe that's why I was successful?Danihttp://www.blogger.com/profile/01999028690146486909noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5319415393326815920.post-9332196033088184172011-10-05T10:20:00.000-07:002011-10-05T10:20:40.047-07:00Nail Stamping<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"></div><br />
I love nails. I secretly wish I was a nail tech so I could do nails all day. But I'm not so I have to stick to doing my own nails.<br />
I found this <a href="http://pinterest.com/pin/272333775/">pin with a tutorial</a> on how to stamp nails. Pretty cool, very pretty, basic premise. The only problem is I don't have all the fancy tools and when I decided to try this project, I was kind of stuck. I started looking through my mountains of craft stuff and came across my rubber Christmas stamps...<br />
<br />
I started with 2 coats of <a href="http://shop.avon.com/shop/default.aspx?col=2&omnCode=Shop_Home">Avon</a> Gun Metal (one of my favourite colours BTW) <br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgZ8y7WYuhT9z9iylpE6rZ9LLnFb0TfvK2INQW9qbEezct3SyOKzF5qqihXArSH13q2hTrXcO42oudj0sOmZQ754LqKITlxV59Yyle_9YA-X81G8bQBMQWgfHvawhZ3_eZwm8n9P4oMGqs/s1600/DSCF2118.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="239" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgZ8y7WYuhT9z9iylpE6rZ9LLnFb0TfvK2INQW9qbEezct3SyOKzF5qqihXArSH13q2hTrXcO42oudj0sOmZQ754LqKITlxV59Yyle_9YA-X81G8bQBMQWgfHvawhZ3_eZwm8n9P4oMGqs/s320/DSCF2118.jpg" width="320" /></a></div><br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"></div>Then I painted Avon Vintage Blue onto the stamp. Keep in mind all I have are Christmas theme stamps. I used the holly one because I thought the leaves might look cool.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgto5aJUHxaZ-pWTHZtzkac7ymzOswcyAj0flEf9OUPLTVjouB0m022L8C5IE7qob8_Qu2cGYRz4qoWSvzpOP2CsOexBfRpXVoJvntCEY0PmYr97lBwqBWAwmKcwChQv2BitWkhVO3u8Ok/s1600/DSCF2119.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgto5aJUHxaZ-pWTHZtzkac7ymzOswcyAj0flEf9OUPLTVjouB0m022L8C5IE7qob8_Qu2cGYRz4qoWSvzpOP2CsOexBfRpXVoJvntCEY0PmYr97lBwqBWAwmKcwChQv2BitWkhVO3u8Ok/s320/DSCF2119.jpg" width="239" /></a></div><br />
Can you believe it didn't look as good as the professional?? LOL I did both thumbs. The design is kind of growing on me, but it's certainly not as cool as the nails in the Pin.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEijwHNR35ua06xKN1zCsMYFR4Md8MvoupyH6zSFefxFxNB3MIUQklocIBslWCaYXsCY7NFTijdVbGacWWmeI662wfURMAoZio4rW0kdQKiS2A4n_PNZdEIUh-hE8lHVVD_qWlmvv9y-WK4/s1600/DSCF2131.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="281" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEijwHNR35ua06xKN1zCsMYFR4Md8MvoupyH6zSFefxFxNB3MIUQklocIBslWCaYXsCY7NFTijdVbGacWWmeI662wfURMAoZio4rW0kdQKiS2A4n_PNZdEIUh-hE8lHVVD_qWlmvv9y-WK4/s320/DSCF2131.jpg" width="320" /></a></div><br />
Unfortunately I'm going to have to make a trip to Sally Beauty Supply and find some neat tools and polish.<br />

I went cheap and bought the supplies I needed from the Dollar Giant. They didn't have any candle holders, I got a vase and glass stones to put inside.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjNKclMdeIPsMGrCJzZ68ffTdr1gHJ7mvUMjoSRokeiwLOZQ_RqkHy0DDmRmk02y14Sa7OFGPHJh5pXVX1e26I5h6WAQ2q1_lP0U93a3ZtcjbmJCO-6vmn9CeS22FtlfWg_vsIMVDbeMN8/s1600/DSCF2102.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjNKclMdeIPsMGrCJzZ68ffTdr1gHJ7mvUMjoSRokeiwLOZQ_RqkHy0DDmRmk02y14Sa7OFGPHJh5pXVX1e26I5h6WAQ2q1_lP0U93a3ZtcjbmJCO-6vmn9CeS22FtlfWg_vsIMVDbeMN8/s320/DSCF2102.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>As much as I like jalapeno's, I wanted to cover the plates and make them more girly. I traced the smaller plate on a sheet of scrapbooking paper and used spray adhesive to attach it to the plate.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEievUCU9A4Zzg5aItC3Mzy1MpgzlhQkM5nhWsRuSNUpn6RYYovOSHJme7NvgUTWQOGyxjVW-BWmZmbktyFpQoRVhcvtTw_itWpZaa8E2Chexp374bmMAf4wn-70D0wn1Z0K6A2KEAFdplI/s1600/DSCF2107.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEievUCU9A4Zzg5aItC3Mzy1MpgzlhQkM5nhWsRuSNUpn6RYYovOSHJme7NvgUTWQOGyxjVW-BWmZmbktyFpQoRVhcvtTw_itWpZaa8E2Chexp374bmMAf4wn-70D0wn1Z0K6A2KEAFdplI/s320/DSCF2107.JPG" width="320" /></a></div><br />

I wasn't interested in trying to cover it with paper.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgqmmqVKvT7v2tq1pUkC4kGfNLnwt2n6SBygLXFcBde6TTVdXmnymc7Sb4RmuLuH6e-NflHMF5rLGbtZJuRVOcjBbajm0TGln4HEjaJkgLoyYoa0CZouvUx-R1eROSUlrz_XR7tDwDmAAU/s1600/DSCF2109.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"></a><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgqmmqVKvT7v2tq1pUkC4kGfNLnwt2n6SBygLXFcBde6TTVdXmnymc7Sb4RmuLuH6e-NflHMF5rLGbtZJuRVOcjBbajm0TGln4HEjaJkgLoyYoa0CZouvUx-R1eROSUlrz_XR7tDwDmAAU/s1600/DSCF2109.JPG" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgqmmqVKvT7v2tq1pUkC4kGfNLnwt2n6SBygLXFcBde6TTVdXmnymc7Sb4RmuLuH6e-NflHMF5rLGbtZJuRVOcjBbajm0TGln4HEjaJkgLoyYoa0CZouvUx-R1eROSUlrz_XR7tDwDmAAU/s320/DSCF2109.JPG" width="320" /></a><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgLfbfgnZl8e9RgyfF9lOhOVW6e5G2IRoWYiyPFa_Keg_Q3A0wz7XNQI-yEvkJz8S6qLc2JiUKtCByPRp5f35E7efzauUqRf3xhJxGZnXwRZcaAB3KJHtx-XsiZopdREjL48DKw5X6FkGI/s1600/DSCF2111.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgqmmqVKvT7v2tq1pUkC4kGfNLnwt2n6SBygLXFcBde6TTVdXmnymc7Sb4RmuLuH6e-NflHMF5rLGbtZJuRVOcjBbajm0TGln4HEjaJkgLoyYoa0CZouvUx-R1eROSUlrz_XR7tDwDmAAU/s1600/DSCF2109.JPG" style="clear: right; float: right; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-left: 1em;"><br />
</a></div><br />
<br />
After I dumped the glass stones in the vase (I didn't buy enough to fill it, but whatever), I used the hot glue gun to add a bead of glue around the top of the vase and secured it to the paper side of the smaller plate.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgIMi2RspbHrS42UY4O-ZW2K2j4C_rUzLDqhyS1nw35LRP9n4U4Z5PCA5soOzx4eG_r8ZgLUs-2-mzyd_b-RCgIZ0rzO3gonqpIEMv6vrjtfyU8UkCZb0OyZvHFVhkoSgrBKyPdn1o5rns/s1600/DSCF2110.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgIMi2RspbHrS42UY4O-ZW2K2j4C_rUzLDqhyS1nw35LRP9n4U4Z5PCA5soOzx4eG_r8ZgLUs-2-mzyd_b-RCgIZ0rzO3gonqpIEMv6vrjtfyU8UkCZb0OyZvHFVhkoSgrBKyPdn1o5rns/s320/DSCF2110.JPG" width="240" /></a></div>I added a bunch more hot glue on the bottom of the vase, and pressed it onto the larger plate.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiS9a20EfTdrWmnNylUqnirI2CVAfT2hVNcKyad5nsHidUqonCd6p48FFL4n8BoGbgPGOAAL9_aHCRf-QX3V3fkhyqZZib6Mtqk99DSYXyB4liWVaYnsnvmYY88fJIfYda1FuOK4CsbUNE/s1600/DSCF2113.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiS9a20EfTdrWmnNylUqnirI2CVAfT2hVNcKyad5nsHidUqonCd6p48FFL4n8BoGbgPGOAAL9_aHCRf-QX3V3fkhyqZZib6Mtqk99DSYXyB4liWVaYnsnvmYY88fJIfYda1FuOK4CsbUNE/s320/DSCF2113.JPG" width="240" /></a></div>Cute, right? I thought so too, until I tried to move it. The hot glue wasn't strong enough to adhere the vase to the plate. The top is fine because of the scrapbook paper, the the bottom has no texture to help the glue.<br />
I'm sure Hubby has some automotive adhesive that I can use. Off to search the garage...Danihttp://www.blogger.com/profile/01999028690146486909noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5319415393326815920.post-24220304378750830572011-09-26T14:10:00.000-07:002011-09-26T14:10:15.221-07:00Welcome!By now we've all heard of <a href="http://pinterest.com/">Pinterest</a>. If you haven't heard of it, it's time to come out from the rock you have been living under.<br />
Pinterest is a virtual pin board (read: ginormous time suck) full of beautiful things, all nicely organized.<br />
<br />
<br />
Now, I can admit I am a bit of a geek. I like crafts. I like new recipes. I like looking at pretty things. I also like to TRY new things. So that's what this blog will be about. Trying the new projects I find on Pinterest.<br />
